On September 11, 2001, the planes hit the following locations:
- American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City between floors 93 and 99 at 8:46 a.m.
- United Airlines Flight 175 crashed into the South Tower of the World Trade Center between floors 77 and 85 at 9:03 a.m.
- American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the western side of the Pentagon, the U.S. Department of Defense headquarters in Arlington, Virginia, at 9:37 a.m.
- United Airlines Flight 93 crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, at 10:03 a.m., after passengers fought the hijackers. It is believed the intended target was either the U.S. Capitol Building or the White House.
These coordinated attacks resulted in the collapse of the Twin Towers and significant casualties.
