can indoor cats get worms

Indoor cats can indeed get worms. Worm infections in indoor cats commonly occur through ingestion of infected fleas while grooming, contact with insects or rodents that have entered the home, exposure to worm eggs carried inside on shoes, clothing, soil (including potting soil), or from other pets and people. Tapeworms, roundworms, and other parasites can find their way indoors despite the cat not going outside. Regular worming treatments and flea control are recommended to protect indoor cats from these parasites.
