It was their first release on Casablanca Records and marked a successful return for the group to the American pop Top 40 charts, peaking at No. 11 on the US Billboard Hot 100, No. 1 on the R&B charts, and achieving top 10 positions internationally including in the UK, Canada, and New Zealand. The song was written by Larry Gottlieb and Marc Blatte and produced by David Wolfert. It became one of the Four Tops' last major hits and helped the group maintain their presence in the music charts across three decades. It features lead vocals by Levi Stubbs and Renaldo "Obie" Benson, with background vocals by Abdul "Duke" Fakir and Lawrence Payton.
