To cure vampirism in Skyrim, the method depends on the stage of the disease:
Early Stage (Sanguinare Vampiris)
- If you have just contracted the disease and it has been less than three in-game days, you can cure it by:
- Using a Potion of Cure Disease.
- Praying at a shrine.
- Consulting a Vigilant of Stendarr, if encountered.
These methods work only before full vampirism sets in
Full Vampirism
- Once fully turned into a vampire, you must:
- Travel to Morthal and find Falion, a wizard who specializes in vampirism.
- Speak to Falion to initiate the quest "Rising at Dawn."
- Obtain a filled Black Soul Gem. To fill it, use the Soul Trap spell on a humanoid enemy and kill them while the spell is active. Black Soul Gems can be purchased from Falion or Enthir.
- Return to Falion with the filled Black Soul Gem. He will lead you to a summoning circle near Morthal at dawn to perform a ritual that cures your vampirism.
- The ritual involves standing in the summoning stones while Falion performs the cure. This process can be repeated if you contract vampirism again, with the same requirement of a filled Black Soul Gem each time
Alternative Cure
- Joining the Companions and becoming a werewolf will automatically cure any vampirism you have, but this changes your character's abilities and gameplay style
This process is specific to Skyrim. For other Elder Scrolls games like Oblivion, the cure involves different quests and ingredients
