KVUE Austin is owned by Tegna Inc. The station has been owned by Tegna since 2015 after the Gannett Company split into two companies, with Tegna retaining the broadcast properties including KVUE. Tegna operates KVUE along with other stations in Texas and nationwide. Recently, in August 2025, Nexstar Media Group agreed to acquire Tegna, which includes KVUE, but it was still under Tegna ownership as of that date.
