Costco's Kirkland Signature diapers were originally manufactured by Kimberly- Clark Corporation, the maker of Huggies diapers. However, starting January 2025, the manufacturing of Kirkland diapers has shifted to First Quality, the company behind the Cuties diaper brand. This change occurred because Kimberly- Clark decided to move away from low-margin private label contracts to focus more on higher-priced premium products under its own brands
. First Quality is a private label specialist that also produces paper products and is expanding its manufacturing capacity to meet Costco's demand. While some customers have expressed concerns about potential changes in diaper quality due to the switch, both Kimberly-Clark and First Quality are capable of meeting the necessary production and absorbency standards set by Costco
