Jayne Kennedy (born Jayne Harrison on October 27, 1951) is an American television personality, actress, model, and pioneering sportscaster. She was the first African American woman to be crowned Miss Ohio USA in 1970 and went on to have a groundbreaking career as one of the first female sports broadcasters, notably as co-anchor on CBS's "The NFL Today" from 1978 to 1980. Kennedy broke major barriers in sports broadcasting and television, gaining recognition as an actress, producer, talk show host, dancer, singer, and author. She is also known for her philanthropic work and corporate spokeswoman roles. Kennedy's career spans acting roles in the 1970s, sports announcing, and producing exercise videos, plus authoring a memoir. She was a trailblazer who helped open doors for women, especially African American women, in sports media and television.
