Shannon Sharpe is currently being accused of sexual assault by two women:
- Gabriella Zuniga, a young woman who filed a $50 million civil lawsuit against Sharpe, alleges that their nearly two-year relationship became abusive and included multiple instances of sexual assault, including rape in October 2024 and January 2025. She also claims emotional distress, battery, and that Sharpe recorded their intimate encounters without her consent. Zuniga's attorney is Tony Buzbee, and Sharpe's legal team denies the allegations, calling the lawsuit a "blatant and cynical attempt to shake down" Sharpe for millions
- Michele Evans, who filed a lawsuit in 2023, alleges that Sharpe sexually assaulted her in 2010 after a dispute over his alleged infidelity. She claims he forced her to perform non-consensual oral and vaginal sex and made threatening statements during the assault. Evans is representing herself and has accused Sharpe of intimidation and defamation as well. Sharpe has denied these allegations too
Sharpe and his attorneys maintain that the relationships were consensual and have presented evidence such as text messages to support their position
. The cases have attracted significant media attention and remain legally contested.
