who hires daedalus

Daedalus was hired by King Minos of Crete. Minos commissioned Daedalus to design and build the Labyrinth, a complex maze intended to imprison the Minotaur, a creature that was half-man and half-bull, born from Minos's wife Pasiphaë and a bull. Daedalus was the only one who knew the way in and out of the Labyrinth, which led Minos to imprison him later on
