Taskmaster was created by comedian Alex Horne. He originally developed the concept for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2010, where he tasked several comedians with performing various challenges. The idea later evolved into a British comedy panel game show that premiered on television in 2015, with Greg Davies as the Taskmaster and Horne as his assistant. The show has since become a successful series with multiple international versions and spin-offs, including the American adaptation where Alex Horne also appears as the assistant.
