The Lumineers are an American alternative folk band formed in 2005 in Ramsey, New Jersey, and now based in Denver, Colorado. The founding members are Wesley Schultz (lead vocals, guitar) and Jeremiah Fraites (drums, percussion, piano). The band became widely popular in the 2010s during the folk-rock and Americana revival, known for hit singles such as "Ho Hey," "Stubborn Love," "Ophelia," "Angela," and "Cleopatra".
They have released five studio albums, with their self-titled debut in 2012, followed by "Cleopatra" in 2016, "III" in 2019, "Brightside" in 2022, and their most recent album, "Automatic," in 2025. The Lumineers are recognized for their energetic live shows, Americana-inspired acoustic music, and heartfelt storytelling. Their popularity extends internationally, and they've sold out arenas and headlined major music festivals.
The band started with Schultz and Fraites writing songs together after a personal tragedy and later expanded to include other members. They moved from New York to Denver to develop their music in a receptive environment, and their engaging live performances have made them one of the top touring bands in the US.
