The United Farm Workers of America (UFW) was co-founded by César Chávez and Dolores Huerta. They initially established the National Farm Workers Association (NFWA) in 1962, which later merged with the Agricultural Workers Organizing Committee (AWOC) to form the UFW in 1966. Both Chávez and Huerta were key labor leaders and activists dedicated to improving wages and working conditions for farmworkers in the United States
