The Netflix series "Wednesday," based on The Addams Family characters, was primarily filmed in Romania for its first season. The gothic and medieval architecture of Romania provided the perfect setting. Key filming locations included Cantacuzino Castle (used as the exterior of Nevermore Academy) in Bușteni, Romania, along with Palatul Monteoru, Casa Niculescu-Dorobantu, and the Bucharest Botanical Garden for interior and other scenes. The town of Jericho, Vermont, depicted in the show, was actually built as a set at Bucharest Film Studios. Additional natural scenes such as lakes were shot at Brănești and Sterbei lakes in Romania. For the second season, filming moved to Ireland, around Dublin and counties Wicklow and Offaly. Notable locations include Charleville Castle in County Offaly used as the new Nevermore Academy, and Trinity College in Dublin (used for Newark Airport scenes). The diverse Irish gothic landscapes expanded the show's visual scope.
