Walton County is located in the Middle Georgia portion of the U.S. state of Georgia, approximately 30 to 45 miles east of Atlanta in the Piedmont region. It covers about 329 to 330 square miles. The county seat is Monroe, and other notable cities include Loganville, Social Circle, Good Hope, Jersey, Walnut Grove, and the town of Between. Walton County is part of the Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Roswell metropolitan area
