Tunisia is a country located in the Maghreb region of North Africa. It is bordered by Algeria to the west and southwest, Libya to the southeast, and the Mediterranean Sea to the north and east. Tunisia lies between latitudes 30° and 38°N and longitudes 7° and 12°E, making it the northernmost country on the African continent. Its capital and largest city is Tunis, situated on the northeastern coast.
