Tameside is a metropolitan borough located in Greater Manchester, England. It lies to the east of Manchester city center and is named after the River Tame that flows through it. The borough includes towns such as Ashton-under-Lyne, Audenshaw, Denton, Droylsden, Dukinfield, Hyde, Mossley, and Stalybridge. It borders the metropolitan boroughs of Stockport to the south, Oldham to the north and northeast, Manchester to the west, and the Borough of High Peak in Derbyshire to the east. Tameside features a mix of urban and rural landscapes, with flat lowlands in the west and highlands to the east near the Pennines, and offers easy access to the Peak District National Park.
