Luka Dončić is from Ljubljana, Slovenia. He was born there on February 28, 1999. His mother is Slovenian, and his father, a former basketball player and coach, is also Slovenian with Serbian descent. Luka began playing basketball in Ljubljana and attended Miran Jarc primary school in the city before moving to the youth academy of Real Madrid in Spain at age 13. He has become one of the most prominent basketball players originating from Slovenia.
