Downloaded files on an iPhone are generally stored in different locations depending on the file type and the app used to download them:
- Most files downloaded through Safari and other browsers are saved in the Downloads folder within the Files app. You can find this by opening the Files app, tapping "Browse," then navigating to "On My iPhone" and selecting "Downloads." If you have iCloud Drive enabled for downloads, the files might be in the Downloads folder under iCloud Drive instead.
- Photos and videos downloaded to your iPhone appear in the Photos app (specifically in the Recents album).
- Music downloaded through Apple Music is stored in the Music app under Library > Downloaded.
- Apps downloaded will appear in the App Library and may not always show on the Home Screen by default.
If you cannot find your downloads in the expected folders, you can use the search function within the Files app or Spotlight search on your iPhone to locate the files by name or type. To check or change the default download location for Safari downloads, go to Settings > Safari > Downloads. In summary, for most downloaded files, the Files app's Downloads folder is the primary location to check on your iPhone.
