where did osama bin laden die

Osama bin Laden died in Abbottabad, Pakistan. He was killed by U.S. Special Forces during a raid on his compound in the early morning of May 2, 2011. The compound was a large, secure residence located about a mile away from the Pakistan Military Academy in Abbottabad. Bin Laden sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head during the raid. Following his death, his body was identified through facial recognition and DNA tests, and he was subsequently buried at sea from the USS Carl Vinson in the Arabian Sea within 24 hours of his death.
