where did mcdonald's start

McDonald's started in San Bernardino, California, when brothers Richard (Dick) and Maurice (Mac) McDonald opened their first restaurant, McDonald's Bar-B-Q, on May 15, 1940. Initially, it was a typical drive-in restaurant with a large menu and carhop service. Later, in 1948, they revamped the business by introducing the Speedee Service System, streamlining the menu to focus on hamburgers, cheeseburgers, fries, shakes, and drinks to provide fast service.
