The Aditya-L1 mission by ISRO was launched on September 2, 2023. The spacecraft was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota using the PSLV-XL vehicle. The mission is India's first dedicated solar observatory aiming to study the Sun from a halo orbit around the Lagrangian point 1 (L1), approximately 1.5 million km from Earth. Aditya-L1 was inserted into its targeted halo orbit around L1 on January 6, 2024.
