when was the fracture

The event known as "the Fracture" happened 67 years ago in the story of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. It marks the first sighting of a mysterious deity called the Paintress, who appeared with a massive monolith and painted the number 100 on it. This event caused the city of Lumière to be pulled into the sea and isolated, cursing its residents in a deadly annual cycle where people corresponding to the number painted on the monolith dissolve and die. Since then, every year the Paintress wakes and paints a new, lower number, continuing this cycle. The current story takes place during Expedition 33, 67 years after the Fracture.
