Live Aid was held on Saturday, July 13, 1985. It was a two-venue benefit concert with simultaneous performances at Wembley Stadium in London, England, and John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. The event was organized by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise funds for famine relief in Ethiopia. The concert attracted an estimated 1.5 to 1.9 billion viewers worldwide and featured many of the top musical acts of the time.
