when was disneyland built

Disneyland was built starting in 1954, and it officially opened on July 17, 1955. The construction lasted about one year and cost $17 million. The park was designed and built under the direct supervision of Walt Disney and was unveiled during a special televised press event on ABC Television Network on its opening day. On the first day, Disneyland had five themed lands and a total of 20 attractions.
