Bruce Willis was first diagnosed with aphasia in the spring of 2022. Later, as his symptoms worsened, he received a conclusive diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia (FTD) in February 2023. This diagnosis led to his retirement from acting. His family initially announced his aphasia diagnosis in March 2022 and provided updates as his condition progressed to the FTD diagnosis a year later.
