The next Canadian federal election is scheduled to take place on Monday, April 28, 2025. This election will elect members of the House of Commons to the 45th Canadian Parliament. The election date was set after the Governor General dissolved Parliament on March 23, 2025, following Prime Minister Mark Carney's advice. The campaign period for this election is the shortest allowed by law, at five weeks. Voters will be electing representatives in 343 federal electoral districts (ridings) using a first-past-the-post system.
