Joffrey Baratheon dies in Season 4, Episode 2 of Game of Thrones, titled "The Lion and the Rose." He is poisoned during his wedding feast, known as the Purple Wedding, and dies with his face turning purple and blood coming from his nose. The poison was slipped into his drink, and although Tyrion Lannister is initially arrested for the murder, it is later revealed that Lady Olenna Tyrell and Petyr Baelish were the real conspirators behind Joffrey's death.
