when did the last magdalene laundry close

The last Magdalene Laundry closed on 25th October 1996. This was the Magdalene Laundry located on Sean McDermott Street in Dublin, originally known as the Gloucester Street Laundry. At the time of its closure, around 40 women were in residence there, some elderly and others middle-aged.
