Ed Gein's brother, Henry Gein, died on May 16, 1944. He died during a fire on their farmland, which got out of control while they were burning marsh vegetation. Although Henry's body was found with bruises on his head and the cause of death was ruled as asphyxiation leading to heart failure, the death was officially considered an accident. There was no autopsy, and no foul play was officially suspected. Ed Gein never admitted to killing his brother, and no conclusive evidence has been found to prove he did.
