For Florida residents, the IRS has extended the tax filing and payment deadlines to May 1, 2025. This extension applies to all Florida taxpayers and covers:
- Federal individual and business tax returns normally due during March or April 2025.
- Tax returns with valid extensions for the 2023 calendar year.
- Quarterly estimated tax payments normally due on January 15, 2025, and April 15, 2025.
- Quarterly payroll and excise tax returns normally due on October 31, 2024, January 31, 2025, and April 30, 2025.
This relief is due to the impacts of hurricanes and related disasters in Florida, allowing affected taxpayers more time to file and pay their federal taxes without penalties as long as they meet the May 1 deadline.
