To find out what version of Windows you have, you can follow these simple steps: Method 1: Using Settings
- Click the Start button.
- Select Settings (gear icon).
- Go to System.
- Scroll down and click About.
- Under Windows specifications , you will see the Edition (e.g., Windows 10 Pro, Windows 11 Home), Version (e.g., 22H2), and OS Build number of your Windows
Method 2: Using the Winver Command
- Press Win + R keys to open the Run dialog.
- Type winver and press Enter.
- A window will pop up showing the Windows version and build information
Additional info:
- The About page in Settings also shows whether your system is 32-bit or 64-bit under Device Specifications.
- For more detailed system information, you can search for and open System Information from the Start menu, which provides extensive details about your Windows version and hardware
These methods work for Windows 10 and Windows 11 devices. Note that support for Windows 10 ends in October 2025, so upgrading to Windows 11 is recommended for continued updates
