Dr. Oz is a cardiothoracic surgeon, specializing in heart and chest surgery. He completed his surgical residency and training in cardiothoracic surgery and has been a prominent heart surgeon conducting heart transplants, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, and other advanced heart procedures. He was also a professor of surgery at Columbia University and directed the Cardiovascular Institute at New York Presbyterian Hospital.
