In badminton, a walkover is a situation where a player or team wins a match by default because their opponent is unable or unwilling to play. This can happen due to injury, disqualification, or other reasons. When a walkover occurs, the opposing player or team is awarded a 3-0 victory. In some cases, a nominal score may be applied for the purposes of points differential tiebreakers. It is an offense to permit a walkover or forfeit a match or game without sufficient reason.
