ICPC stands for Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission. It is a Nigerian agency that was inaugurated on September 29, 2000, with a mandate to educate about, prohibit, detect, investigate, and prosecute corrupt practices and related offenses. The ICPC targets corruption in the public sector, especially bribery, gratification, graft, and abuse or misuse of office. The agency offers protection for whistleblowers, educates and enlightens the public about corruption and related offenses with a view to enlisting and fostering public support for the fight against corruption. The ICPC is not related to the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC), which is a law enacted by all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the US Virgin Islands to provide protection and support services for children who are placed across state lines for foster care or adoption.
