GP2 in BSNL stands for Grace Period 2, which starts after the 8th day of expiry of a subscribed BSNL prepaid plan. GP2 is applicable for all BSNL prepaid plans. BSNL gives its consumers two-level grace periods before their contract expires or is terminated. GP1 and GP2 are the two grace periods provided by BSNL. When a prepaid plan crosses GP1 in BSNL, which is 172 days after the expiry of the validity of the SIM, GP2 starts. Within this period, if the user recharges their SIM, they can retain their prepaid SIM number. BSNL GP-II and beyond customers now need a minimum recharge of Rs 107 to return to the active state.
