EPF Form 31, also known as EPF Advance Form, is used to file a claim for partial withdrawal or advance from the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) account. The form is a 4-page document that must be filled with the latest and factual information, signed by the employee, and attested by the employer and the EPF Commissioner. The form requires the following information to be filled by the employee:
- Mobile number
- Reason for requiring advance
- Name of the Member
- Name of the father or husband
- Date of birth
- PAN number
- Aadhaar number
- Date of joining the firm
- Complete postal address of the applicant
- Monthly basic wages and dearness allowance
- PF Account Number
- The purpose of the advance
- The sum of money required
- Address
The employer needs to fill in the following details in case of offline submission of withdrawal form:
- Name and address of the employer
- Signature, date, and designation (along with the stamp of establishment)
- Enclosures
The EPF commissioner will need to submit the following requisite details:
- Beneficiary of the cheque (for specific purposes such as home loans, EMIs, etc.), or bank details
- Name, age, date of marriage, and address (for marriage advances)
- Advance Stamp Receipt
EPF Form 31 can be submitted both online and offline. For online submission, individuals can download the form from the EPFO’s official website, fill in the relevant details, and submit it after getting it attested from their employer. For offline submission, individuals can download the form from the government’s official website, fill in the required details, and submit it to their respective jurisdictional EPFO office after getting it attested from their employer.
