Extrait de parfum, also known as pure perfume or perfume extract, is the most concentrated and expensive form of perfume. It typically contains between 20-40% fragrance concentration, and sometimes even higher. This makes the scent even more potent and longer-lasting than Eau de Parfum (EDP), which typically contains between 15-25% fragrance concentration. Extrait de parfum is often sold in smaller bottles and applied sparingly to pulse points, as the high concentration can be overwhelming if too much is used. It is usually reserved for special occasions. Extrait de parfum is made from the most expensive floral essences, usually in the initial form of absolutes or concretes, making them one-of-a-kind perfumes. They contain more precious and rare natural ingredients, and their formulas can also be more complex containing more heart and middle notes.
