The Commission is the sole EU institution tabling laws for adoption by the Parliament and the Council, and it manages EU policies and allocates EU funding. The European Commission is made up of the College of Commissioners, 27 European Commissioners, one for each member state. The Commissioners are nominated by their respective member states and are subject to a vote of approval by the European Parliament.
