A biometric residence permit (BRP) is a residence permit that holds a migrants biographic details and biometric information, and shows their immigration status and entitlements while they remain in the UK. If you made your visa or immigration application from inside the UK, your BRP will be sent to the address you gave in your application. You will need your Royal Mail tracking number to track the delivery of your BRP on the Royal Mail tracking website. If your BRP has not arrived within 10 days of getting your decision email or letter, you can track the delivery of your BRP on the Royal Mail tracking website and contact Royal Mail if you need help with your delivery. If you applied from outside the UK, you must usually collect your BRP before the vignette sticker in your travel document expires or within 10 days of arriving in the UK, whichever is later. You can collect your BRP from either a named Post Office branch or your sponsor, depending on what your decision letter says. If you are under 18 years old and will be collecting your BRP at a Post Office, you must be accompanied by an adult.
