Antifa is short for "anti-fascist." It refers to a decentralized political movement primarily active in the United States that opposes fascism and far- right ideologies. The movement is composed of various groups with no central leadership and engages in direct action ranging from peaceful protests to confrontational tactics against fascists, racists, white supremacists, and neo-Nazis. Members are generally left-leaning, with some adhering to far-left ideologies such as anarchism and anti-capitalism.
