An intercept is a point where a graph of a function or relation intersects with one of the coordinate axes. There are two types of intercepts: x-intercept and y-intercept. The x-intercept is the point where the graph intersects the x-axis, and the y-intercept is the point where the graph intersects the y-axis. The y-intercept is the value of y when x=0. The x-intercept is the value of x when y=0. In higher dimensions, the notion of intercept may be extended to other coordinate axes.
