On Cash App, a sponsor is a parent or trusted adult with a verified account who approves a request from someone aged 13-17 to access certain features on Cash App, such as investing in stocks and bitcoin. A sponsored account is considered an authorized user of the sponsors account, and the sponsor becomes the legal owner of the sponsored account. Sponsors can turn on/off stocks and bitcoin features on a sponsored account at any time, see all sponsored account’s transaction activity, and manage Cash Cards. Sponsored accounts have a $100 per week limit to buy, gift, and/or round up in stocks and bitcoin. Sponsors can review their sponsored accounts Cash App, Savings, Stock, and Bitcoin balances and transaction activity, manage Cash Cards, or turn Investing (stocks and bitcoin) features on/off. They can also enable or disable their sponsored account’s access to the Cash Card and other features under the Controls and Limits section of the Family Hub. If a sponsored account needs to dispute a payment or transaction, the customer or their sponsor can contact Cash App Support.
