Ty Borden, a character in the TV show Heartland, dies in the first episode of season 14 titled "Keep Me in Your Heart". Ty dies due to complications from his gunshot wound, deep vein thrombosis. In the season 13 finale, Amy and Ty accidentally get in the way of a stray bullet fired by a nearby poacher. Due to Ty acting heroically, the bullet only hits Amy in the shoulder. Ty rushes her to the hospital, where a nurse points out he’s been shot as well. Tys death came as a surprise to many fans of the show, and it was a creative decision made by the actor behind the Ty character, Graham Wardle, to exit the series.
