Nyah Nordoff-Hall is a character in Mission: Impossible II, portrayed by Thandiwe Newton. She worked alongside Ethan Hunt to take down her former boyfriend, the villainous Sean Ambrose. In the end, she decides to sacrifice herself by injecting the last of the Chimera virus into her bloodstream, but Ethan and Luther manage to save her life. The Impossible Missions Force then clears Nyahs criminal record, and the movie ends with her on vacation with Ethan.
After Mission: Impossible II, Nyah did not return to the franchise. Thandiwe Newton turned down the opportunity to return for Mission: Impossible III, citing family commitments and a challenging working experience with Tom Cruise. There are no confirmed plans for Nyahs return, but its possible she could make an appearance in Mission: Impossible 8 with a significant role. There are rumors that Nyah was to return in Mission Impossible 3 as a Mission Impossible Force agent who would work with Ethan, but Thandiwe Newton reportedly declined the offer.
