Firefighter Paramedic Graham Hoffman, age 29, was fatally stabbed in the chest, piercing his heart, while transporting a patient to a hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, on a routine medical call early Sunday morning. Despite immediate and heroic lifesaving efforts by his partner, Kansas City Fire Department crews, and hospital staff, Hoffman succumbed to his injuries in the intensive care unit. He had been a member of the Kansas City Fire Department since 2022
. The suspect, Shanetta Bossell, 38, allegedly stabbed Hoffman inside the ambulance. She was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder, armed criminal action, and other offenses including attempted theft of the ambulance and assault on a police officer. Bossell had a recent history of assaulting officers and was out on bond for biting a police officer just days before the stabbing incident
