Chandi Dayle, a veteran Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader (DCC), took a temporary leave of absence from the team following an incident during a team retreat to the Bahamas. She broke a major DCC rule by bringing a stranger back to her hotel room. This was not a sexual situation but rather an act of seeking emotional support, as she was struggling with the aftermath of an abusive relationship and feeling isolated. This incident caused tension within the team due to security concerns. During this time, Chandi dealt with the effects of an emotionally abusive past relationship that escalated to stalking and harassment. She took a mental health break, missing multiple games and appearances. Although she returned briefly to the field for the Cowboys' last game of the season, she chose to retire afterward, stepping away from her leadership role and the team. Following her retirement, Chandi has been focusing on recovering from hip surgery and moving forward with her life, including taking on a role judging her alma mater's Pomline team. She reflected on the year as a journey to find herself and regain confidence after a difficult period of her life. The Bahamas incident and her struggles were featured in season two of the Netflix docu-series "America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders" which highlighted her personal and professional challenges during her final year with the squad.
