Satya Yuga, also known as the Golden Age, is the first and best of the four yugas in Hinduism. It is believed to last for 1,728,000 years (4,800 divine years) . During this time, humanity is governed by gods, and every manifestation or work is close to the purest ideal, and intrinsic goodness rules supreme. It is sometimes referred to as the "Age of Truth". Key features of Satya Yuga include:

  • Morality: The god Dharma, which symbolizes morality, stood on all four legs during this period.
  • Knowledge, meditation, and penance: These hold special importance in this era.
  • Good deeds: During Satya Yuga, all people engage only in good, sublime deeds.
  • Long life: The average life expectancy of a human being in Satya Yuga is believed to be over 4000 years.

The end of Satya Yuga is marked by two earthly events, the first one with Raja Harishchandras rule and the second one with Ajapalas rule. The end of Treta Yuga happened with the end of Lord Ramas avatar. The Puranas describe a rare instance during Satya Yuga where two races cooperated for their mutual benefit, each wanting to mine the ocean. Although many Western scholars believe the Puranas of India are mythological, they are actually accurate accounts of former eras in the history of our universe.
