what does debit card pending correction

Nature

When a debit card transaction is made, the amount of the transaction is placed on hold in the account until the transaction is processed. During this holding time, which usually lasts 2-4 days, the amount will show as a pending debit. Once the transaction is processed, the hold is released and the funds are withdrawn from the account.

Sometimes, a transaction may appear as "debit card pending correction". This can happen when the funds a cardholder used in a transaction are returned to the cardholders bank. It can also happen when a debit card transaction is authorized by the bank but not submitted by the merchant for payment within three business days of authorization, or if it was never submitted for authorization. In this case, the bank releases the authorization hold on the transaction and removes it from the list of pending transactions, adding the funds back to the available balance. If the payment request is received at a later date, the actual transaction amount will be deducted from the account at that time.
