A verruca, also known as a plantar wart, typically appears as a round lump with a rough, cauliflower-like surface. When located on weight-bearing areas of the foot, it may be flattened and have a crumbly texture. Verrucas often have tiny black dots in the center, which are actually small blood clots caused by bleeding within the wart.
