Ian Watkins was the lead singer of the Welsh rock band Lostprophets. In 2013, he was sentenced to 29 years in prison after admitting to multiple serious sexual offenses including attempted rape and sexual assault of children as young as infants, as well as possession of child and animal sexual abuse material. His crimes were described in court as extremely depraved. Following his conviction, his band disbanded. Watkins was attacked and killed by another inmate in prison in 2025.
